About the Author
Paz Gomez is a cryptocurrency analyst and educator with experience navigating crypto in restrictive economies. Her research and analysis focus on how technological innovation challenges traditional financial paradigms and empowers individuals in countries facing financial exclusion, currency controls, and crippling inflation.
She has contributed crypto analysis to Econ Americas, the Frontier Centre for Public Policy, the American Institute for Economic Research, and Edward Elgar Publishing. She has also spoken at conferences on crypto adoption and regulation and financial empowerment.
Paz is the cofounder and academic director of Libre Razón, a classical-liberal think tank in Quito, Ecuador; an analyst at Econ Americas, an investment advisory firm specializing in emerging markets; and a blockchain professor at the Mexican Autonomous Technological Institute (ITAM).
She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from the San Francisco University of Quito and a master’s degree in blockchain and digital currency from the University of Nicosia. She resides in Quito, Ecuador, where she continues to work remotely and promote digital innovation initiatives for development.
